Animism (The Living World)
Imagine that everything around you — the trees, the rocks, and even the rivers — has its own little spark of life or a spirit. It means the world is not just a bunch of stuff, but a big family of living things that can feel and talk in their own way. When you walk in the woods, the trees are like old grandfathers watching over you. This teaches us to be very kind to nature because you are talking to a friend, not just a thing. If you treat the world like it is alive, it starts to feel like it is talking back to you. Everything is connected by a secret golden thread of life.
The tree is not furniture. The river is not plumbing. They are alive. Talk to them. They have been listening the whole time.
Animism is the foundational layer of human religiosity: anima (soul/life) is not exclusive to humans. Aligns with panpsychism — consciousness as a fundamental property of matter. Collapses Cartesian dualism of Subject vs. Object. Resonates with the Gaia Hypothesis: Earth as a self-regulating living system.
