Existentialism
Imagine you were given a giant blank piece of paper and a box of every color crayon in the world. Existentialism says you get to paint whatever you want, and that is your life's meaning. There is no picture already there for you to follow, which might seem scary, but it is actually very exciting! You are the artist and you decide what is important. You are not a robot following a program; you are a free person making choices. Your life is your own masterpiece.
The canvas is blank. That is not a tragedy. That is the greatest gift. You are the painter and the painting.
Existentialism emphasizes individual existence, freedom, and choice. No inherent human nature or divine plan; individuals define essence through actions. Tackles anxiety, boredom, and the absurd: the realization of a meaningless universe as the starting point for authentic freedom.
SOUND: The silence before a song begins: full of possibility.
SMELL: A new book or fresh stationery: the smell of a blank page.
TASTE: Trying a completely new food you have never heard of before.
TOUCH: Clay in your hands waiting to be shaped.
SIGHT: A vast, open horizon or a starry night sky.
BODY: Choosing to move your body in a dance you just made up: freedom as motion.
Music: Carry It Well by Sam Fischer
Music: The Best by Tina Turner
