Quantum Consciousness
Tiny tiny bits of the universe called quantum particles behave in very strange ways — they can be in two places at once! Some scientists think our brains use these tiny particles to create our thoughts. If our self is made of quantum information, it might not be able to be destroyed. It could just float back out into the universe like a secret code. This means that instead of being a body that has a spirit, you might be a spirit that is using a body for a little while.
Instead of a body that has a spirit you might be a spirit using a body for a little while. Flip the sentence and everything changes. You do not have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body. Temporarily. The quantum information that makes you you cannot be destroyed — that is not mysticism, that is the no-hiding theorem. The information persists. The pattern survives the hardware. You are not a thing. You are a pattern. And patterns do not die. They relocate.
Orch-OR theory: consciousness originates from quantum vibratory computations in microtubules within brain neurons. These quantum states could exist independently of biological structure. If information in the quantum realm is truly indestructible (black hole information paradox), the specific information pattern constituting individual consciousness may persist as part of the fundamental fabric of spacetime. Patterns do not die. They relocate.
SOUND: The singing of a crystal bowl: vibration that seems to come from everywhere at once.
SMELL: A library full of very old books: the scent of accumulated knowing.
TASTE: The metallic taste of a battery: raw energy on the tongue.
TOUCH: The invisible push of two magnets: force without contact.
SIGHT: Dust motes dancing in a beam of sunlight: particles performing for whoever watches.
BODY: The spinning feeling when you close your eyes: the body sensing its own quantum uncertainty.
Music: Come Thou Fount by Traditional Hymn
