The Second Law of Thermodynamics
If you build a sandcastle, the wind and waves will eventually melt it back into flat sand. Things tend to get messy and spread out over time. This is why time only goes forward. It's the universe's way of saying "make the most of right now."
Every moment is special because it can never be repeated. The "messiness" of life is just the universe moving toward a giant, warm rest.
Entropy (S = k ln W) measures the number of microstates consistent with a macrostate. The increase of entropy defines the "Statistical Arrow of Time." It connects physics to information theory, suggesting that the universe is "forgetting" its initial specific configuration as it moves toward maximum probability.
SOUND: A glass breaking. You can hear the order turning into chaos.
SMELL: A match being struck. The organized wood turns into messy smoke and scent.
TASTE: An ice cube melting in your mouth. Orderly ice turning into "random" water.
TOUCH: Feeling a smooth stone that used to be a jagged rock. Time and friction spread the energy out.
SIGHT: Watching smoke rise from a chimney and disappear into the air.
BODY: Feeling tired at the end of the day. Your "battery" has spread its energy out into the world.
