Equivalent Ratios
Equivalent ratios are like different outfits for the same person. Whether you say 2 out of 4 or 1 out of 2, you are talking about exactly half. It is like two different sized pizzas cut so every bite has the same amount of cheese. The numbers look different, but the heart of the fraction is the same. Truth can look different depending on size, but it still stays true.
Size is a relative construct, but Relationship is an absolute truth. The heart of the fraction never changes.
Equivalent ratios are elements of the same equivalence class: a:b equals c:d iff ad=bc. This demonstrates Scale Invariance, vital in fractal geometry and quantum mechanics where properties remain unchanged regardless of observation scale. The microcosm mirrors the macrocosm.
SOUND: Playing a middle C and a high C on piano: different sizes but the same note.
SMELL: One drop of perfume in a small room vs. ten drops in a ballroom.
TASTE: Chocolate milk in a glass vs. a gallon: tastes the same if the ratio is right.
TOUCH: The texture of a small piece of velvet vs. a whole velvet curtain.
SIGHT: Seeing a photo of a mountain and then seeing the real mountain.
BODY: Your brain knowing your hand is half-open whether your hand is small (as a kid) or large (as an adult).
