Binary Code: The Digital Heart
Your computer talks in a secret language of Zero and One. Zero means Off, One means On. By switching really fast, the computer creates pictures, music, and movies. Zero is the darkness that lets the light of the One make a pattern. We need the Off to understand the On.
We need the Off to understand the On. Without darkness, light is just a blur. Zero gives the One its meaning.
Binary (Leibniz, base-2): zero is low-voltage (gate closed), one is high-voltage (gate open). The fundamental bit. Without a distinct zero state, signals would be continuous and indistinguishable. Zero is the space between signals enabling discrete data.
