Binary Logic

Computers are incredibly smart, but they only speak a language made of two things: Off and On, 0 and 1. Everything you see on a screen — movies, games, pictures — is just a giant pile of Offs and Ons working together. This is the simplest version of Light and Dark. By switching between them very fast, we can create anything! It shows that even the most complicated things in the universe start with a simple choice between two opposites.

Even the most complicated things start with a simple choice between two opposites. 0 and 1. Yes and no. Light and dark. The entire internet is just a very fast conversation between on and off. Your life is the same. Every moment is a choice. And every choice builds the picture.

Claude Shannon's information theory defines information as the resolution of uncertainty. The bit (binary digit) is the fundamental unit — a choice between two mutually exclusive states (Light/Dark, 1/0). In the Everlasting We, binary logic is the skeleton of reality. But quantum logic allows superposition — being both 0 and 1 until observed. Our language is binary. Our essence is the spectrum between.

SOUND: The beep and boop of an old computer: zeros and ones you can hear.

SMELL: The ozone smell of a lightning storm: electricity choosing a path.

TASTE: The fizz of a soda: it is either there or it is flat. Binary.

TOUCH: Flicking a light switch up and down: the original binary.

SIGHT: A pixelated image zoomed in until you see the squares: ones and zeros made visible.

BODY: Tense versus relaxed in a muscle: your body speaks binary too.

Music: Sitting, Waiting, Wishing by Jack Johnson
