The Mentor
Think of a very kind teacher or a grandparent who tells you exactly what you need to hear when you are lost. They give you a map or a special tool to help you stay safe on your walk. You hear their voice, which is calm and deep like a slow river. You smell the old, comforting scent of books and peppermint tea. You taste a warm, soothing soup that makes you feel strong and cared for. You feel the gentle, firm hand of the mentor on your shoulder, giving you courage. You see the sparkle of wisdom in their eyes that tells you they believe in you.
The mentor does not carry you. They hand you the map and say: you already know the way. I am just reminding you.
