Humidity & Dew Point
Humidity is the amount of ghost water hiding in the air around you. On a humid day, the air feels thick and sticky, and your sweat does not dry off very well. The Dew Point is the magic temperature where the air says, I cannot hold any more water! When the air cools down to that temperature at night, the ghost water turns into real water drops on the grass — that is the dew you see in the morning. It is the planet's way of sweating and breathing.
Contentment is knowing exactly how much you can hold before you overflow. The air knows its limit. Do you know yours? The dew point is the moment of truth. The moment the invisible becomes real.
Psychrometrics is the field of engineering studying thermodynamic properties of gas-vapor mixtures. Vapor pressure deficit (VPD) is key for plant transpiration. Relative humidity versus absolute humidity describes different aspects of moisture content. Connects to architecture and agriculture — influencing how we build homes and irrigate crops to prevent rot and promote growth.
