Brute Fact
Sometimes the answer is just Because! A Brute Fact is something that is true but there is no reason for it. It is like asking why the sky is blue; we can talk about light and atoms, but eventually you reach a point where the rules just are what they are. This teaches us that we do not always need an answer to be happy or live a good life. The universe is a giant, wonderful mystery that just exists.
The mountain does not explain itself. It just stands. Some truths have no why. They just are. And that is enough.
Russell: The universe is just there, and that is all. Rejection of PSR. Explanations must end somewhere to avoid infinite regress; these terminal points are Brute Facts. Common in naturalism and physicalism. Science explains how, but the why of existence may be a pseudo-question. Burden of meaning falls on the observer, making existence a blank canvas.
