Optimistic Nihilism
Some people think it is sad if life does not have a giant pre-written meaning, but Optimistic Nihilism says that is actually great news! It is like being at a giant playground where there are no rules about which slide you have to use. Since nothing matters in a scary way, you are free to just have a good time and be kind. You are here for a short visit, so you might as well enjoy the party!
If nothing is written, everything is permitted. Not as a threat. As an invitation. The universe gave you a blank ticket. Use it.
Nihilism framed not as despair but as ultimate freedom. If the universe is indifferent, mistakes carry no permanent cosmic weight. Allows radical focus on present moment and subjective experience. Encourages scientific appreciation for the sheer improbability of existence: the mundane as miraculous.
SOUND: Joyful, uncontrolled laughter.
SMELL: Popcorn at a fair or circus: fun you can smell.
TASTE: Something purely for fun, like a colorful lollipop.
TOUCH: Bubbles popping on your skin.
SIGHT: A photo of a distant galaxy: beautiful and indifferent.
BODY: Jumping on a trampoline and feeling weightless: freedom from cosmic weight.
Music: You've Got a Friend in Me by Randy Newman
