Empirical Evidence
Empirical evidence is seeing is believing. It is using your eyes and hands to prove something is there. If you say there is a cat in the box and I open it and see a cat, that is empirical evidence. It is the most basic way to find the truth. This anchors you to the physical world and keeps your feet on the ground.
Open the box. Look inside. The truth does not need permission to exist. It just needs a witness.
Empiricism: all knowledge is based on sensory experience. Contrasted with Rationalism, which argues some knowledge comes through pure reason. Modern science integrates both: reason builds models (rationalism) and data from the world tests them (empiricism).
SOUND: A bird chirping: you know it is there.
SMELL: Wood smoke: you know there is a fire.
TASTE: A strawberry: you know it is ripe.
TOUCH: A fuzzy blanket: the evidence is in your fingertips.
SIGHT: The stars at night: ancient light proving the universe is vast.
BODY: Wind on your face: the air is moving even though it is invisible.
Music: Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
