Hydrological Cycle

The Earth drinks the same water over and over. Water travels from the ocean to the sky, turns into clouds, falls as rain, and flows back to the sea. The water you drank today might have been part of a dinosaur's bath millions of years ago!

You are physically connected to every ocean, every cloud, and every living thing through the water that flows through us all.

The Hydrological Cycle is the planet's primary thermoregulatory and erosive mechanism. It involves phase changes (solid, liquid, gas) that facilitate latent heat transfer across latitudes. This cycle is the "connective tissue" between the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere, driving global climate and nutrient transport. It connects to Economics: value, like water, must flow to sustain the system; stagnation in either leads to the death of the local environment.

SOUND: The peaceful sound of a bubbling brook or rain hitting a window.

SMELL: The fresh, clean scent of the air after a thunderstorm (ozone).

TASTE: A cold glass of water β€” taste the "life" in it.

TOUCH: Dip your hand in a bowl of water and watch it disappear (evaporate).

SIGHT: Watch steam rise from a hot cup of cocoa.

BODY: Feel the sweat on your skin cooling you down; you are part of the cycle.
