Recursion (Fractals)
Recursion is when a pattern contains a smaller version of itself inside, like a dream within a dream. If you look at a fern leaf, each little part looks like a tiny version of the whole leaf. This shows us that the same "rules" apply to small things and big things alike. The same patterns that make a galaxy also make the veins in your own hand.
Feeling that "as above, so below" connection to the stars.
Recursion solves problems by depending on solutions to smaller instances of the same problem — the basis for the Mandelbrot Set, an infinitely complex shape. It challenges Euclidean views by introducing fractal dimensions that exist between 1D, 2D, and 3D. This bridges mathematics to biology (DNA replication) and linguistics (sentence structure), suggesting a Holonomic universe where the whole is contained within every part.
SOUND: An echo that gets quieter and quieter but keeps the same tone.
SMELL: The smell of a pine forest, where every tree smells like the whole woods.
TASTE: A Russian nesting doll of flavors, like a chocolate-filled strawberry.
TOUCH: Feeling the repetitive texture of a honeycomb.
SIGHT: Holding two mirrors facing each other to see a "tunnel" of yous.
BODY: Noticing how your small finger movements mimic your whole arm.
