The Cosmic Egg
An egg is a wonderful thing because it looks like a simple rock on the outside, but it has a whole new life growing on the inside. Many cultures say the universe started as a cosmic egg. All the energy and stars were tucked inside a shell, kept warm and safe until it was time to hatch. This tells us that big things often start small and hidden. Even when you feel small, you might be carrying a giant universe of ideas and love inside you, just waiting for the right time to crack the shell and come out!
Big things often start small and hidden. The oak tree is in the acorn. The symphony is in the silence before the first note. The universe was in the egg. You were in a single cell. Every great thing that ever happened started as something so small you could miss it. This is the lesson: do not judge by current size. The seed does not look like the forest. The egg does not look like the eagle. The idea in your head right now does not look like the thing it will become. But it will become. Because everything that hatches was once something that waited. And everything that waited was something that believed the shell was temporary.
The cosmic egg: archetype representing the singularity in pre-manifest state. Hiranyagarbha (universal germ) in Vedic philosophy. The inflationary universe describes rapid expansion from compact high-energy state. Emphasizes potentiality over actuality. The universe contains all components for its own evolution within itself. The shell was always temporary.
SOUND: The quiet hum of a refrigerator or distant engine: potential energy making its background noise.
SMELL: A fresh egg or a bowl of flour — things that can become something else: the scent of not yet.
TASTE: A hard-boiled egg — packed with energy: the taste of potential in a shell.
TOUCH: A smooth oval stone — its fullness in your hand: holding a universe that decided to be small.
SIGHT: A nebula — a cloud where stars are born: the cosmic egg still hatching.
BODY: Curling into a tiny ball then slowly stretching out: your body rehearsing the moment the egg cracked open.
Music: Graves Into Gardens by Elevation Worship
