The Law of Conservation of Energy
Energy is the stuff that makes everything happen, and it can never be truly destroyed or used up. Instead, it just changes from one form into another, like how a battery powers a toy or how food gives you strength to run. Even when something seems to stop or die, its energy is just moving into a new home in the universe. This means nothing is ever really gone forever; it is just being recycled into something different. It is like a big game of tag where the energy keeps moving from person to person. You are part of this big, never-ending cycle of moving power.
You cannot destroy energy. You can only move it. The heat leaving your body is the same force that moves the clouds. Nothing ends. Everything transfers. You are a relay runner in an infinite race.
The First Law of Thermodynamics (dE=δQ−δW) dictates a closed system where total internal energy remains constant. In Death & Rebirth, this provides physical foundation: something always remains. The state changes — organized biological matter to disparate thermal and chemical components — but the fundamental essence (energy) is preserved across the phase transition of death.
