Consequentialism (The Greater Good)

Sometimes to do the right thing we have to look at what will happen because of our choices. If you have one toy but five friends want to play, the right thing might be finding a game everyone can play together. This is thinking about the Greater Good: making the most people happy and the fewest people sad. Your choices are like pebbles thrown into a pond; the ripples touch everyone.

Every pebble sends ripples. You cannot throw a stone without moving the whole pond. Choose your throws wisely.

Utilitarianism acts as an optimization algorithm for social utility. Seeks to maximize the informativeness gate by ensuring the highest truth score for the outcome. Treats moral decisions as a mixture distribution reducing divergence between individual and collective wellbeing. Connects to Utility Theory in economics and Effective Altruism.
