Duty and Responsibility (Deontology)
Duty is doing what is right simply because it is the rule, even if it does not make you happy right away. Imagine you promised to clean your room before going outside. Even if friends are calling you to play, your duty is to finish your promise first. Responsibility is taking care of the things and people that depend on you. When we all do our part, the whole world runs smoothly like a giant, well-oiled machine.
Some things are right not because of what happens next, but because of what they are. The law is written on the heart before the paper.
Deontological ethics focuses on the action itself rather than the result. Certain actions carry an inherent density matrix of rightness. Following categorical imperatives ensures behavior is reproducible and full-rank, avoiding singularities of moral compromise. Relates to Stoicism and Dharma in Indian philosophy.
