Pantheism (God Is the All)

Pantheism is the idea that God is not a person living in the clouds, but that God is the clouds, the trees, the stars, and even you! It means the whole universe is one giant, living being, and we are all tiny parts of its body. Imagine if your hand thought it was all alone, but it is actually part of you; we are like that with the universe. This means that everywhere you go is a holy place because everything is made of God-stuff. It makes you feel very important and very connected to everything else in existence. You are never truly alone because the whole world is with you.

Your hand does not know it is part of your body. But it is. You do not know you are part of everything. But you are. There is no outside. Only inside.

Pantheism (Spinoza: Deus sive Natura) identifies God with the universe and laws of nature. Removes Personhood of God, replaces with Infinite Substance. A bridge between religion and science: studying the universe via science becomes intellectual love of God. Provides spiritual framework compatible with a purely physicalist worldview.

SOUND: White noise of a waterfall: everything at once.

SMELL: A whole garden in bloom: every flower is the same thing.

TASTE: A piece of fruit: tasting the sun, the rain, and the earth in one bite.

TOUCH: Dipping your feet in a lake and feeling water surround you.

SIGHT: Earth from space: the Blue Marble, one living thing.

BODY: Gravity pulling you down, holding you close: the universe hugging you.
