Energy never dies — it just changes form
Energy is like a cosmic Lego set. You can't make new bricks and you can't throw any away. You can only rebuild them into different shapes. If you stop moving, your energy didn't vanish; it just turned into heat or sound.
Everything naturally moves from "neat" to "messy." A sandcastle eventually turns back into flat sand, but the sand never builds a castle by itself. Time only moves forward because things are spreading out.
As things get colder, they stop moving. Absolute Zero is the point where everything is perfectly still. But the universe has a rule: you can get very, very close to being perfectly still, but you can never actually stop 100%.
If you are as warm as a chair, and your friend is as warm as the chair, then you and your friend are the same temperature. It's the "Law of Balance." Everything wants to share until everyone is equal.
Matter (stuff you can touch) is just super-packed energy. A tiny bit of "stuff" is actually a giant explosion of "power" waiting to be let out. You aren't just made of dust; you are made of frozen light.
If you want to move faster, you have to put in the "work." The effort you spend pushing a swing is exactly equal to how high and fast the swing goes. Nothing moves for free.
No machine is perfect. Even the best car or robot wastes some energy as heat. There is a "limit" to how much work you can get out of a fire or a battery. You can't win, and you can't even break even.
Temperature is just a "crowd" of atoms dancing. If they dance fast, it's hot. If they dance slow, it's cold. The "rules" of heat are just the average behavior of trillions of tiny, bouncing balls.
Gibbs is the "Spending Money" of energy. It's the energy that is actually free to go do something cool, like growing a flower or moving your arm. If a reaction has enough "spending money," it happens all by itself!
The universe is getting messier (entropy), but you are getting smarter and stronger. How? Because you are an "Open Door." You take in energy (food and sun) and push the "messy" energy out. Life is a beautiful island of order in a big, messy ocean.
