Scaling Invariance
Have you ever mistaken a photo of a rock for a giant mountain? Some things look the same whether an inch or a mile long. Rivers branch like lightning bolts. Being big or important is not about size. A small child can follow the same rules of kindness as a grown-up.
The laws governing the small mirror the large. As above, so below. Size is just a frame; the pattern is eternal.
Scale invariance: objects or laws unchanged when scales are multiplied by a common factor. Hallmark of phase transitions and critical phenomena. Scientific basis for the hermetic axiom As Above So Below.
SOUND: White noise: sounds the same at any volume.
SMELL: The ocean: the same in a drop as in a wave.
TASTE: Pure honey: a tiny drop is just as sweet as a whole jar.
TOUCH: Feeling sand: one grain feels like the whole beach.
SIGHT: A V of geese flying looks like the V of a river delta.
BODY: Stretching your arms out and feeling the same shape as a star.
